ANNOUNCEMENT

The directors noted the recent decrease in the share price 
of the shares of the Company saved as the Change in 
Shareholding of Substantial Shareholder of the Company, the 
directors are not aware of any reasons for such decrease.

"This statement is made at the request of The Stock Exchange 
of Hong Kong Limited.

We have noted the recent decrease in the price of the shares 
of the Company and wish to state that we are not aware of 
any reasons for such decrease except the following:*

We wish to state that after the close of business on 10th 
February, 2000, we received a notification from a 
substantial shareholder of the Company previously holding 
115,103,000 shares representing 13.7% of the existing issued 
share capital of the Company had decreased its shareholding 
in the Company to 91,000,000 shares representing 10.8% of 
the existing issued share capital of the Company as at 10th 
February, 2000. We also confirm that there is no impact on 
the operations of the Company.

Except as aforesaid, we also confirm that there are no 
negotiations or agreements relating to intended 
acquisitions or realisations which are discloseable under 
paragraph 3 of the Listing Agreement, neither is the Board 
aware of any matter discloseable under the general 
obligation imposed by paragraph 2 of the Listing Agreement, 
which is or may be of a price-sensitive nature.
